Case Study

Lowry Hotel

The Lowry Hotel in Manchester falls within the enviable portfolio of ‘Luxury Hotels of the World’, being one of only a small number of 5* hotels in the UK.  The Lowry Hotel chose First Corporate as a company that could not only design and manufacture a range of bespoke tailoring, but who were able to also provide an ongoing managed service solution for their 250 staff.

A Stylish and Unique Uniform...

The brief was to create a stylish and unique uniform that captured the vibrancy of The Lowry Hotel, using key styling features that flowed throughout all roles. The uniform also had to be of a high quality, with a modern twist on the traditional to create an individual look.

We began with CADS, to introduce concepts and colours and to ultimately hone in on what The Lowry Hotel were looking to achieve. Using a mixture of bespoke print and stock fabrics, we achieved a contemporary yet classic design that captured this luxury brand.

Samples and Sizing...

The bespoke fabric theme was then utilised throughout the entire hotel, from a bespoke Merino wool overcoat for the Doormen to a bespoke tunic for Housekeeping, as well as carefully selected stock options for Maintenance and Goods Inwards.

Gold seal samples were approved and a critical path was created and quantities agreed for manufacture. All of the garments were then made in our own factory based here in the UK.

The staff sizing took place at The Lowry Hotel over a four day period, using garments manufactured in-house to ensure the perfect fit was achieved.

Bespoke Lining...

Using our in-house Design and Sample room, First Corporate created samples for the decision makers to view and wearer trial. Making small amendments to the designs along the way, we then added extra trims to garments using the bespoke teal and silver print fabric. This fabric was also used as a feature lining in the jackets to give the uniform a luxury look and feel.
